For 2006, the winners for the Queen Anne Historical Society's "Crown
of Lights" Holiday Lighting contest were:
Bruce and Cecilia Beaman
at 1245 Bigelow Ave. N, for the "on the Boulevard" category.

The Beamans have lived in this 50's ranch for
20 years and their decorations have grown over time. He is a
retired school principal and she is currently acting principal
at Pacific Middle School in Des Moines. The judges were struck
by the long lines and arches of blue and gold lights, contrasting
with the vertical lines on the KING 5 television tower rising
behind the house.
---*---
Frank and Rosanna Bellotti
at 1609 2nd Ave. W., for the "off the Boulevard" category.
This Victorian house was built in 1900 and has
been converted from a WWII era duplex back into a single family
home. The Bellottis have lived there for 17 years with their
three children, Anthony, Carmen and Sophia, but Frank acknowledged
that he is the one who has to put up the displays. A 50 year-old Santa from
his father-in-law’s shop tops the porch.
Both winners will be presented with an award certificate
and a gift certificate from the President of the Society.
The Society wishes to thank all those who participated in this
year's contest and acknowledge the efforts of this year's judges:
Barbara Nelson, QA High School Alumni president; Michael Warren,
QA Community Council board member; and John Hennes, QAHS President.
The Society thanks them and our ever-faithful van driver, Del
Loder. Prizes consisting of gift certificates to Vincenzo's
restaurant were provided by the Greater
Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce. |
