DuPen Fountain Past and Future
September 11 @ 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Free
We hope you will save the date to join Seattle Center for an event honoring the work of local artist Everett DuPen (1912-2005) and the beginning of the design process for the next phase of life for the beloved DuPen Fountain of Creation at Seattle Center.
We will share a 30-minute documentary of DuPen’s life and artistic work. His son, Dr. Stuart DuPen, and daughter, Destia DuPen Hermes, will share brief remarks about their father.
You will also have a chance to view several of DuPen’s sculptures that have recently been installed at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall for the public to enjoy, through a generous donation from the DuPen family.
There will be opportunity to participate in the outreach effort recently launched to ask the public what they treasure about the previous iterations of the Fountain of Creation and what they would like to see featured as we look towards the future.
The Lecture Hall entrance is approximately 50 feet east of the main theater entrance, right under the Skybridge at street level.
